Our expertise
- Liaison with asset owners and authorities
We are experienced in obtaining the necessary permits from utility authorities and relevant road, rail and airport authorities in each state. Rob Carr works collaboratively with authorities and asset owners to ensure we remain in full compliance with all requirements. Wherever possible, Rob Carr seeks early involvement with these key stakeholders in the early planning stages to understand the project constraints and work with them to develop a range of potential solutions.
- Decommissioning
Rob Carr is often called upon to decommission existing pump stations and other pipeline infrastructure as part of our scope of works. We work with the asset owner to understand requirements and constraints, and take appropriate actions to ensure that we avoid environmental harm on-site or off during and after completion of the decommissioning phase.
- Relocations
Existing utility services under roads and footpaths, such as gas, power, water and telecommunications often need to be relocated to allow us to construct new or upgrade existing infrastructure. Rob Carr will often work closely under the instruction of the asset owners to undertake excavation and preparatory works, which enables asset owners to directly undertake the service relocations.
- Live Connections
We are particularly experienced at undertaking complex live connection work into wastewater or drainage infrastructure. Rob Carr is certified by several water authorities to undertake such works and over time has dealt with varying system capacities, flows, constraints and work times to ensure minimal disruption to the community during connection works.
- Testing & commissioning
Rob Carr has commissioned numerous pipelines and pump stations and other water infrastructure. We work meticulously to ensure that all systems and components of the new infrastructure are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of our client and the asset owner.
- Minimising traffic and community impacts
To ensure operational continuity for the asset owners, we plan construction, relocations and live connections in detail and work with asset owners to notify the community of upcoming disruptions. We often work within tight timeframes to undertake these works to minimise disruption to the community.
